How Avis car rentals work
To rent a car with Avis, simply click the Reserve button and choose an available reservation date and time to pick up your rental vehicle. Call the Avis reservation hotline at 1-888-409-9266 if you have issues or questions.
Prior to your reservation, please create an Avis Preferred profile if you don’t already have one by clicking the link in your reservation confirmation email.
Eligibility
Comfort eligible cars from Avis are eligible for Uber Comfort trips, as long as you have completed at least 100 trips and maintain a rating of at least 4.85 stars.
Perks of the program
Avis rentals include the following benefits:
- $40 ride credit to the rental branch: A $40 Uber ride credit will be automatically applied to your account to get to the rental branch.*
- No deposit: Avis rentals do not require a refundable deposit. Optional add-ons like the loss damage waiver (LDW) will be available for purchase at pick-up.
- 24/7 roadside assistance: All Avis renters can reach out for roadside assistance at any time of day throughout the length of their rental.
- Basic maintenance and insurance: Basic maintenance and vehicle insurance is provided by Avis for all rental vehicles used to drive with Uber.
- Automatic renewals: Avis offers automatic renewals for up to a total of 8 weeks (56 days) as long as you are complying with the terms of your rental agreement. After 8 weeks, if you'd like to continue renting, you will be required to make a new rental reservation through Uber’s Vehicle Marketplace and visit the original rental location.
Other requirements
- Must be age 25 or older
- Have an active credit or debit card
- A soft credit check is required if you use a debit card (this won’t affect your credit score)
- A smartphone with the Uber Driver app installed
- An Avis Preferred profile
To get a car with this offer, you must have been approved to drive with Uber and be at least 25 years of age. Prices are subject to change or withdrawal at any time and without notice, and may depend on the region or city in which you are located. Several factors may determine the base price of a rental, including the duration of the rental, the car make and model, how far in advance the rental is booked, the time and day of the rental, and its home location. Please visit the rental company’s website for a full description of the terms and conditions applicable to your rental, including whether taxes, gas, and other applicable fees are included or excluded. Uber is not responsible for the products or services offered by other companies, or for the terms and conditions (including financial terms) under which those products and services are offered. Drivers renting with a rental partner may qualify for trip surge areas and Uber promotions specific to that rental partner, but except as specified in the Driver app, may not qualify to participate in other promotional offers.
